Oops...

So, this has been a week of mishaps, malfunctions, and mistakes for our family. Let me recap:

    • Our furnace (Steve and Kari's house) had a central nervous system breakdown and blew a fuse along with developing some other side effects. Effectively freezing Steve and forcing him to build fires every night. Poor man. :(
    • Steve's mac died.
    • Mom was in a car accident. She's ok, but the car isn't doing so hot at this moment.

Thankfully, I am doing pretty well right now. I'm staying on top of homework for the most part. I took late library books back and mailed a package to Steve today. I put in (almost) all of my hours at work this week. I scheduled a doctor's appointment and the next pre-marriage counseling session for Steve & I. I'm just waiting to hear back from Pastor Rob. I also paid the down payment to reserve the cottage for our honeymoon. Now it's time to call some bakeries and get some estimates/quotes! I love being productive!

Stay warm! Stay connected! Stay safe!

Freshly sharpened pencils.

Well, it's not that time of year again. It's actually the winter semester that every student dreads. It's really hard to stay motivated after the holiday break in the middle of winter. Steve and I had a wonderful, productive, and satisfying time together over the holidays. It was the first time we spent over 10 days of consecutive time together. We learned a lot more about each other and got a lot done. I learned that Steve is obsessed with playing in the snow and plays with fire way too much. I'm sure he learned that girls are sometimes over-emotional and that I hate being late.

The best restaurant I've eaten at so far:

Old Spaghetti Warehouse! The best bread ever! Fresh sourdough baguette with your own garlic butter spread. Wow!

So, I started this entry a long time ago and can't remember the point of it so I'm stopping here. :) Have a great day!!

Take a look!

Here are more pictures - and a better explanation of our new home. Enjoy!

Townhouse Sweet Townhouse

Happy New Year! It's that time again to accidentally write 2007 on all of your checks. Oops! Wow! So much has happened since Steve and I flew to Oregon after Christmas. It was a pretty good flight with a 4-hour layover in Las Vegas. No, we didn't elope. :P Sadly enough... Kidding!

We have really been wanting to find a nice apartment, but we are also trying to save money for the wedding and such. So, one day we went to see Jane to look at her apartment and to see if we were interested in renting one of those if the college students moved out in May. She gave us her landlord's phone number and told us to give her a call and let her know we are interested. The real test would eventually be if she was interested in us.... ;)

The next day I called Betty and left a message on her voicemail. That night Steve and I had been talking about money and praying that God would show us His will in our housing decision. The morning after I received a voicemail message on my cell from Betty. She didn't have any apartments open, but she did have a townhouse that had recently been vacant. I was nervous because we had just prayed the night before and I wasn't sure if it was a gift from God or a temptation from Satan trying to sway us from waiting on the Lord. We prayed again and felt the Lord leading. So, we called her back and told her we were still interested and wanted to look at it. We drove over the next morning and looked at the apartment, got the keys, paid the move-in fee and first month's rent, and signed the contract. God is so good to us! We love you all so very much! Have a safe and blessed 2008!

Here are some preliminary pictures of our new home (naked as it is).
